Targeted Youth Support

Warwickshire’s Targeted Youth Support Team’s objective is for young people to have a brighter future. Dedicated, professionally qualified youth workers use their own knowledge, skills and experience to build positive relationships with young people aged 11 to 18 years.

Family Connect

Family Connect is a partnership between the Council, Warwickshire Police, the National Health Service (NHS) and it brings together Children’s Social Care, Information and Advice and partner agencies into one place to facilitate early, better quality information sharing, analysis and decision-making to safeguard children, young people and families more effectively.

Child Friendly Warwickshire

The Council’s aim is to make Warwickshire a child friendly County where children are safe, healthy, skilled, happy and have a voice. We work with our Child Friendly Warwickshire business and community organisation partners to make Warwickshire as full of opportunity for young people as possible.

Family Information Service (FIS)

Warwickshire’s Family Information Service (FIS) webpages hold a vast array of information to support families of all ages in the community. The Team members also offer one to one online or face to face discussions to offer information, advice and support and signposting to relevant organisations.

Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Some children and young people with special educational needs (SEND) who live in Warwickshire will need social care support. Social care covers a range of services that help people with day-to-day living and for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities this may mean help with personal or physical care due to a disability.

Early Support

The purpose of Early Support is to put in the right support at the right time so that problems are less likely to escalate to a point where the child becomes vulnerable or in need. Early Support is sustainable so that problems are less likely to re-occur.

Families First

Warwickshire is proud to have been one of ten local authorities selected as a pathfinder for the national Families First for Children programme.  This government programme is all about working together earlier and better to support children and families when they need help.

The Children in Care Council is made up of young people from the county – either in care or care leavers – aged 11-20. The Council acts as the voice for every child and young person in the care of Warwickshire County Council.

It supports young people as they interact with the police and court processes and aims to reduce instances of crime and antisocial behaviour. Warwickshire is pleased that following a recent inspection, this service has been rated as “Good
