Senior Assessment & Review Officer (SEND Tribunals)
Location: Somerset
Working Arrangement: Fully Remote
Contract: Full Time
Rate: £51.19 per hour
Pertemps is recruiting for an experienced Senior Assessment & Review Officer to support a local authority in Somerset on a fully remote basis. This role is ideal for a SEND professional with strong experience in tribunal case management and statutory assessment processes.
Key Responsibilities
Tribunal Case Management
- Coordinate and manage responses to SEND Tribunal appeals
- Prepare legal documentation and compile supporting evidence
- Represent the Local Authority at Tribunal hearings where required
Mediation Coordination
- Arrange and support mediation meetings between families and the Local Authority
- Work proactively to resolve disputes and prevent escalation to Tribunal
Legal and Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice, Tribunal procedures, and statutory timescales
- Provide expert oversight and advice on complex SEND cases
Requirements
- Significant experience within SEND Assessment and Review
- Proven experience managing SEND Tribunals and mediation processes
- Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory frameworks
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote role
- Experience using Matrix and/or Prism systems
