SEND Case Officer – Oxfordshire
Location: Oxfordshire (Mostly Remote – Office Attendance Once Per Month)
Rate: £250–£280 per day
Hours: Full Time

Pertemps Social Care is currently recruiting for an experienced SEND Case Officer to join a well-established Local Authority in Oxfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive SEND service, offering mostly remote working with just one day per month in the office.

The Role: As a SEND Case Officer, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of children and young people with Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans, ensuring statutory duties are met and high-quality support is provided to families, schools and professionals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a designated caseload of children and young people with EHC Plans.
  • Administering Annual Reviews, Phase Transfers, and transfers in and out of the county within statutory timescales.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for families, carers, young people, schools and partner agencies once an EHC Plan has been finalised.
  • Monitoring EHC Plans to ensure the provision outlined is being delivered effectively.
  • Responding to routine enquiries from parents, carers, educational settings and professionals.
  • Working in accordance with Local Authority policies and procedures relating to Annual Reviews, complex casework, Phase Transfers, Tribunals and Mediation.
  • Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with SEND legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Building positive relationships with education, health and social care professionals to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.

About You To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience working as a SEND Case Officer within a Local Authority.
  • A strong understanding of the Children and Families Act 2014, the SEND Code of Practice, and EHC statutory processes.
  • Experience managing Annual Reviews, Phase Transfers and maintaining EHC Plans.
  • Knowledge of SEND Tribunals and mediation processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy caseload and meet statutory deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with families, schools and professionals.
  • Experience using Local Authority SEND case management systems is desirable.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
