Safeguarding Partnership Manager
Location: South East
Pay: £46 per hour

We are looking for experienced and passionate Safeguarding Partnership Manager to leas the strategic work of a local authority in the South East. This will include leading on the development of effective, influential relationships with key strategic groups, and driving the work of each partnership.

You will be committed to the national statutory post qualifying standards for your own continuing professional development, joining an authority where these are nationally recognised as well embedded. You should demonstrate in your written statement key areas of learning and progression in your own journey. You will bring to the role considerable management experience including managing others and service budgets. You will be able to talk in interview about your experience of managing and motivating teams to achieve significant service improvements and improved outcomes for children and young people. As an individual, you will embrace change as an opportunity for innovation and will have a track record in performance gains. You will be able practice with confident authority in relation to key aspects for safeguarding children, ensuring that statutory guidance is followed. This confidence will enable you to take lead roles in quality assurance and inspection activity.
 
Perfect candidate will be:

  • Professional qualification in an area related to adults or children
  • Post graduate qualification
  • Experienced in working with children and families including those from vulnerable groups.
  • Creative, flexible and forward thinking in approach.
  • Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and understanding of child protection issues.
  • Constantly striving for continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for children.
  • Able to use excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users.
  • Highly skilled at building meaningful relationships
  • Experienced in working in a multi-disciplinary, interagency basis
  • 4 Years plus Qualified

In this role you will:
 

  • Lead the annual business planning process for the two partnerships, ensuring the development of a clear plan and timeline for delivery, in order to meet the strategic priorities of each partnership. This will include the production of annual reports.
  • Work closely with the joint independent chair to ensure they are briefed, prepared and supported to fulfil their role effectively.
  • Lead the multi-agency work of both partnerships; ensuring partner agencies deliver the agreed safeguarding priorities in a timely way.
  • To drive the work of each partnership, ensuring strong collaboration is in place between the multi-agency membership of each, and to identify and implement opportunities for collaborative approaches across the two partnerships.
  • Lead the statutory and practice review processes for both partnerships ensuring they are compliant with current national guidance, and provide expert advice on the commissioning of, and appropriate methodology for, statutory reviews and other types of local reviews.
  • Lead on the development and implementation of a learning and improvement, and quality assurance framework for both partnerships.
  • Provide support and challenge to the chairs of sub-groups and task and finish groups to ensure that the agreed strategic priorities are met and that partner agencies are held to account.
  • Oversee and manage the work of the partnership support team to support delivery of the strategic priorities within agreed timescales, including accountability for the effective management of staff performance.
  • Represent each partnership at relevant meetings to ensure safeguarding of children and adults is promoted and reflected in the setting of priorities and decision making by these groups.
  • To take lead responsibility for communications in relations to the partnerships and awareness of safeguarding statutory responsibilities, legislation and guidance across Buckinghamshire.
  • Responsibility for ensuring all relevant national and local safeguarding policies and procedures are shared, accessible, adhered to and non-compliance is challenged.
  • To develop effective and influential relationships with key strategic groups, including the Safer Stronger Bucks partnership, the Health and Wellbeing Board and the Domestic Abuse Strategic Group, to strengthen the influence of the Buckinghamshire Joint Safeguarding Partnership.
  • Maintain an up-to-date awareness of developments in government direction, strategy and policy as it relates to safeguarding (for adults and children) and ensure that both partnerships undertake their work in the full light of this knowledge.
  • To lead in sharing learning between the partnerships and developing joint safeguarding initiatives and where appropriate.
  • To take the lead in discussions with partners about their contribution to each partnership in relation to financial and human resources.
  • To actively promote the involvement and engagement of service users in the development of the priorities for the Boards.
