Qualified Social Worker – Adult Services

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, social worker to join Manchester City Council within adult services.

This social worker role includes undertaking Care Act assessments, support planning, reviewing services, acting as the duty worker alongside a manager, completing home visits, assessing mental capacity and making best interest decisions, assessing and managing risk, undertaking enquiries under s. 42 of the Care Act and holding a busy and complex caseload – all working alongside allied health and community colleagues; and citizens and carers. The social worker will be required to attend team meetings in person at the office fortnightly and will be required to work from the office when providing duty cover.  Duty cover is  one week in duration and occurs every 6- 8 weeks.

Working Pattern offered: Full-time, hybrid working, candidates will be expected to work from the office base at Withington Hospital when on duty.
