Personal Advisor – Birmingham

Pay rate – £20.01 per hour

Birmingham City Council are currently recruiting experienced Personal Advisors for their Unaccompanied Asylum-seeking Childrens team.
 
Hybrid working available
37 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
 
Supporting young people aged 16 to 25 as they transition from care into adult life.
Undertake comprehensive needs assessments and create personalized Pathway Plans focusing on housing, education, employment, and emotional well-being.
Guide young people through the UK immigration system, explain their rights and entitlements, and help them understand options as immigration decisions are made.
Provide dedicated one-to-one guidance, act as an advocate to secure timely support, and help young people access recreational activities, hobbies, and social connections.
Offer hands-on help with budgeting, accessing benefits, housing applications, cooking, time management, and communication.
Facilitate workshops and community events to promote social inclusion and personal development.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date case notes and share duty support responsibilities on a rota basis.
 
 
Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
