Head of Children’s Services – Multi Agency Child Protection Service – Merseyside

Pay rate – £500 – £600 per day

Pertemps Professional Recruitment are partnering with a local authority in Merseyside to appoint an exceptional Head of Children’s Services to lead the newly established Multi Agency Child Protection Service.
This senior leadership opportunity sits at the forefront of transformational safeguarding practice, overseeing an integrated service that brings together senior professionals across health, education, policing, and social care to deliver a robust, intelligence-led response to children at risk of significant harm.
Created as part of the latest national social care reforms, the service is designed to strengthen multi-agency collaboration, accelerate decision-making, and deliver high-quality, child-centred safeguarding interventions.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership across the service, driving operational excellence, strengthening partnership performance, and ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding practice and accountability.
This role requires a credible and influential leader with substantial senior-level experience within children’s services, a strong track record in safeguarding leadership, and the ability to lead complex multi-agency transformation within a high-profile environment.
 
Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
