Children’s Social Worker – Bradford

Pay rate – £35 per hour

Bradford City Council are recruiting experienced children’s Social Workers for their Progressing Permanence Plans team.
 
This is a non-caseholding role
Fixed-Term (3 Months) | 37 Hours per Week | Hybrid Working
 
Bradford Children and Families Trust are launching an exciting short-term initiative to accelerate permanence planning for children in care.
Seeking six experienced Senior Social Workers to join a dedicated, non-case holding team focused solely on progressing permanence plans through high-quality assessments and court applications.
This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact—free from the demands of case management—by contributing directly to the timely achievement of stable, permanent outcomes for children.
 
What You’ll Do

• Complete targeted work including parenting assessments, SGO assessments and support plans, family time assessments, and court documentation.
• Work intensively with up to five families at a time, delivering all required work within a 6-week timeframe.
• Collaborate closely with legal services, business support, and the wider Children in Care service to ensure smooth progression to court.
• Help reduce delays and improve outcomes for children by supporting the discharge of Care Orders through Special Guardianship Orders and reunification.

 
 
Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
