Liverpool City Council are recruiting an experienced Children’s Business Support Manager.
As Business Support Manager, you will lead and manage a team of Business Support Officers, ensuring high-quality administrative support is delivered across Children’s Services.
You will play an integral role in driving performance, supporting operational delivery, and working closely with social care managers on key projects and service improvements.
 
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, manage, and develop a team of Business Support Officers
• Oversee the day-to-day delivery of administrative support across Children’s Services
• Monitor team performance using established frameworks, ensuring high standards are maintained
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of staff
• Manage HR-related matters including attendance, performance, and disciplinary processes
• Work collaboratively with social care managers to support service delivery and project work
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and data protection standards
• Maintain accurate records and reporting to support service performance

Essential Skills & Experience
• Proven experience in a Business Support Manager or senior administrative leadership role
• Experience working within Children’s Services, social care, or a similar public sector environment
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Experience managing performance, staff development, and HR processes
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong IT skills and experience with administrative systems
 
 
Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
