Approved Mental Health Professional – West Berkshire

Pay rate – £50 per hour
 
Contract – Temporary  
 
West Berkshire Council are currently recruiting an experienced Approved Mental Health Professional for their adults’ services.
 
Team work remotely.
A full driving licence is essential, they will need their own vehicle and will have to drive Berkshire wide, possibly London or Wales.  
15 hours over 2 days per week – Flexible on what days those are
 
Work with service users and carers to maximise independence in line with self-directed care principles.
 
Undertake professional duties in:

• Care management
• Safeguarding
• Mental capacity
• Deprivation of liberty
• Risk assessment and management
• Provide social work expertise to locality team members
• Assess referrals to adult social care for service eligibility under the Care Act 2014.
• Act as lead specialist in a condition relevant to the role (e.g. mental health, learning disability, dementia, MS, acquired brain injury).
• Work in a specialist team and collaborate with NHS partners.
   

 
Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
