A Greater London local authority are recruiting experienced Adults Support Workers for their Residential Homes.
 
Previous experience is essential as a Support Worker working with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour and our client can promise a nurturing and supportive working environment.
 
As a Support Worker your main responsibilities will include:

  • Support service users in accordance with their needs and wishes as detailed in their person-centred support plans.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the Safeguarding of Adults and to recognise and report any disclosure, suspicion or evidence of harm, risk of harm, abuse, or neglect.
  • Accurately complete documentation that forms part of their support plans and notes.
  • Support the service users in staying active, healthy, and as independent as possible.
  • Attend training, including induction training, team meetings and individual supervisions.
  • Support people in all aspects of their daily living, such as shopping, cooking and domestic.

 
We are recruiting Support Workers on a temporary / ad hoc basis to work in various private healthcare settings, supporting service users with mental health illnesses and learning difficulties.
 
The suitable candidates will:

  • Have worked a minimum of 6 months recent experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Have a flexible approach towards work.
  • Be able to travel via own or public transport in local and surrounding areas to your home.

You will need to have a minimum of six months recent UK experience working within a healthcare environment in a similar capacity. We cannot offer sponsorships.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend a video interview.

All positions are subject to an enhanced DBS check, and we require a minimum of two satisfactory employment references.
Although shifts are offered on an ad hoc basis, work is constantly ongoing. 
 

About you
It is essential that applicants have experience in:
-Supporting people who may challenge (verbally, physically),
– Keeping calm and confident in challenging situations
– Experience in Positive Behaviour Support
– Experience of enabling people with a learning disability/autism to take positive risks in their lives
– Knowledge of the Transforming Care Agenda
