Children’s Social Worker – Harrow

Pay rate – £39.04 per hour
 
Contract – Temporary
 
Harrow Council are currently recruiting experienced children’s Social Workers for their First Response team.
 
Hybrid working available
36 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
 
Conducting robust, prompt assessments and secure the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and families.
Complete timely and high-quality assessments (such as Single Assessments and Section 47 child protection enquiries) to identify complex needs, risks of harm, abuse, or neglect.
Manage a statutory caseload of children in need (CIN) and children requiring protection, ensuring continuous monitoring, planning, and reviewing.
Collaborate closely with partner agencies (like police and health services) to share intelligence, conduct joint risk investigations, and make appropriate service referrals.
Chair and contribute to professional meetings, strategy discussions, and child protection conferences, presenting clear evidence to guide safety planning.
Build constructive, direct relationships with children and families quickly, ensuring that the voice of the child remains central to all decision-making and care planning.
 
 
Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
