Swansea Council are currently recruiting experienced children’s Social Workers for their Family & Friends Fostering team.
 
The current working arrangements are full time with office days
Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s and Thursdays from base in the Guildhall, and working remotely on Monday’s and Friday’s. (Guildhall, Swansea, SA1 4PE).
 
The Family and Friends Fostering Team is a specialist kinship care service that works to ensure children who cannot live with their parents are given the opportunity to remain safely within their wider family or friendship network wherever possible.
The team undertakes assessments of connected persons, family and friends foster carers, and Special Guardians, providing evidence-based recommendations to support care planning and permanence decisions.
They complete viability assessments, full fostering assessments, annual reviews and Special Guardianship support reviews, while also offering ongoing supervision, support, training and guidance to approved carers.
Working closely with children, families, social workers, legal representatives and partner agencies, we promote safe, stable and nurturing family-based care arrangements that achieve positive outcomes for children.
Seeking an experienced and motivated social worker who can contribute to assessment, support and permanence planning work within our busy and supportive team.
 
Rate of pay in line with the ADSS All Wales Pledge
All candidates must be registered with Social Care Wales, hold a valid driver’s license and have their own transport.
 
 
Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
