EHCP Complex Case Officer – West Berkshire
Location: West Berkshire
Rate: £292.31 per day
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite at Market Street, The manager will consider fully remote working for the right candidate
Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced EHCP Complex Case Officer to join a busy SEND team within West Berkshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable SEND professional to manage complex cases and support the statutory processes surrounding Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The successful candidate will work closely with children and young people, parents, schools and a range of professionals to ensure cases are progressed efficiently and in line with statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a complex caseload of children and young people with SEND and EHCPs
- Contribute to the statutory arrangements for identifying, assessing and providing for children with special educational needs
- Complete and manage statutory Annual Review processes in line with relevant legislation
- Ensure EHCP and Annual Review processes are completed within statutory timescales
- Liaise with Headteachers, Educational Psychologists, schools and other professionals to obtain and collate relevant advice
- Work directly with parents and carers, providing clear and transparent information regarding their child’s case
- Manage admissions and placement processes, including post-16 provision
- Attend Annual Reviews and other meetings when required
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and manual case records
- Prioritise and progress cases involving children and young people who are looked after by the Local Authority
- Attend Support and Review Meetings on behalf of senior SEND management when required
Essential Experience
- Previous experience working as an EHCP Coordinator, SEND Case Officer or Complex Case Officer
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014
- Proven experience managing complex SEND and EHCP cases
- Excellent knowledge of the statutory EHCP and Annual Review processes
- Experience working directly with parents, schools and multi-agency professionals
- Strong communication, organisation and case management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to statutory deadlines
