EHC Coordinator – Hertfordshire
Rate per day: £300 per day
Location: Hertfordshire
Working Pattern: Hybrid – predominantly home-based, with on-site attendance varying week to week

We are currently recruiting for an experienced EHC Coordinator to join Hertfordshire’s SEND service. This is a hybrid role, with the majority of work undertaken from home, although on-site attendance will be required depending on service needs.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring statutory processes and timescales are met.
  • Coordinate EHC needs assessments, annual reviews, amendments and updates to EHCPs.
  • Work closely with schools, families, social care, health professionals and other key stakeholders.
  • Liaise closely with the Virtual School Education Adviser supporting the child.
  • Ensure the needs and circumstances of children looked after are appropriately reflected within the EHCP process.
  • Understand the responsibilities of Local Authority professionals as Corporate Parents.
  • Recognise and respond to the potential barriers to learning and participation that children looked after may experience as a result of previous trauma and adverse experiences.
  • Ensure appropriate education provision and support are identified and coordinated to meet individual needs.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure work is completed in line with SEND legislation, statutory guidance and Local Authority procedures.

Requirements

  • Strong experience working within a Local Authority SEND/EHC service.
  • Previous experience coordinating or managing EHCPs and statutory SEND processes.
  • Good understanding of the needs of children looked after and the role of Corporate Parenting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Virtual School and wider professional network.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, statutory timescales and the EHCP framework.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and case management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a predominantly remote environment.
