Occupational Health Adviser
Pay Rate: up to £22.85 PAYE / £29.21 Umbrella
Working Hours: 30 hours per week
Hybrid Arrangements: Fully remote/WFH working (option of ad-hoc attendance in Shrewsbury at Council office)
To provide a full Occupational Health Adviser role to Shropshire Council employees, including Schools, Academies and other external customer. Ensure timely management referrals and effectively manage OH capacity, reduce risks, and provide high-quality support to employees. If at all possible we would also like to engage an Adviser with specific experience of dealing with mental health cases, so a qualification or experience linked to mental health would be ideal.
– The OH adviser will support the senior occupational health adviser in delivering and developing occupational health services for Shropshire Council and client organisations.
– The OH adviser will be the competent role (occupational health practitioner) for the service.
– Have a good working knowledge of current UK Health and Safety legislation, applying this to own practice.
– Contribute to and lead on the development and implementation of clinical audit.
– Contribute to the development of OH standards and policies. Assisting in developing, establishing protocols and procedures at operational level to ensure safe and competent practice.
– Undertake and manage health surveillance programmes as required by current Health and Safety legislation.
Essential: NMC Registered Nurse – Adult Occupational Health knowledge and experience
