Children’s Social Worker – Liverpool

Pay rate – £40 per hour
 
Contract – Temporary
 
Liverpool City Council are currently recruiting experienced children’s Social Workers for their Advice and Support service.
 
Hybrid working – 3 days per week in the office
 
A Children’s Advice and Support Service (CASS) Social Worker operates as the “front door” for children’s services, processing initial referrals, identifying levels of need, and recognizing immediate safeguarding concerns.
They work alongside the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) to provide immediate, coordinated responses.
 

• Receiving all new requests for services and recording high-quality, accurate demographic information on the council’s management systems.
• Applying local Right Help Right Time guidance to identify levels of need and providing advice to professionals and members of the public.
• Ensuring immediate child protection concerns are identified without delay and promptly escalated to management and partner agencies.
• Signposting referrers to early intervention services or contacting families directly to offer early help support.
• Liaising with police, health professionals, education providers, and other local CASS partners to gather holistic information.

 
 
Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
