Enfield Council are currently recruiting an experienced Youth Offending Worker for their Victims and Restorative team.
Dedicated to supporting people affected by youth crime
Purpose of the Post
- Support Victims: Provide information, advice, and support to victims of youth crime.
- Restorative Justice: Facilitate communication between those harmed by crime and the young people responsible for the harm, allowing victims to participate in restorative processes at a level of their choice.
- Reduce Reoffending: Work within the Youth Justice Service to prevent offending and create safer communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Case Management: Manage caseloads to provide support to victims, including attending restorative justice meetings.
- Restorative Justice Activities: Facilitate reparation activities designed to repair the harm caused to victims.
- Reporting: Produce written reports regarding victim engagement to inform courts and panels.
- Collaboration: Work within a multi-agency team (including police and probation) to ensure victims’ voices are heard within the youth justice process.
Requirements
- Experience in working with people affected by crime or in a restorative justice setting.
- Ability to engage with young people and their families to understand the impact of their behaviour.
- An understanding of restorative approaches and the impacts of crime.
