SEND Caseworker – Bristol
Fully Remote
£300 per day (Umbrella)
Pertemps are recruiting experienced SEND Caseworkers to join a SEND Assessment Team supporting a Local Authority based in Bristol. This is a fully remote role offering a competitive daily rate.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will act as a SEND Caseworker, coordinating the Education, Health and Care (EHC) Needs Assessment process from start to finish. This is a customer-facing role, working closely with families, schools, and multi-agency professionals to ensure statutory responsibilities are met and positive outcomes are achieved for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating the EHC Needs Assessment process in line with statutory timescales
- Maintaining regular communication with families, keeping them informed of next steps throughout the assessment process
- Liaising with colleagues across Education, Health, and Social Care
- Creating and amending Draft and Final EHCPs that are clear, concise, and legally compliant
- Working closely with schools to secure appropriate school placements
- Advising schools on provision and promoting inclusion within mainstream settings
- Managing a caseload effectively while working to strict statutory deadlines
- Using local authority IT systems to update records and statutory documentation
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a SEND Caseworker within a local authority SEND Assessment Team
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and the EHC assessment process
- Experience producing high-quality Draft and Final EHCPs
- Confidence in having professional, sometimes challenging, conversations with schools and families
- Excellent organisational, communication, and IT skills
- Experience using EHM and/or Liquidlogic is desirable
