Adult Social Care – Locality Team
Rate: up to £36 per hour
 
We are recruiting for motivated qualified social worker to join our busy team. This role is with one of the UK’s highest performing local authorities, serving as one of the best places to live and work in.
 
This is a qualified role requiring you to be SWE registered and have relevant experience within adult’s services.
 
Hours: 36 per week
UK Driving Licence and Access to Vehicle Required: Yes
Location: Initial Contact Team based at Bromley Civic Centre
 
Remote Working – since Covid-19 the service have implemented a flexible working approach however face to face visits will be required to service users.

The London Borough of Bromley Education, Care and Health Services Division are looking for a Senior Social Worker to work in the Initial Contact Team. Senior Social Worker will be expected to support the front end of the service and applicants will therefore need experience in triaging/processing referrals. The role will include early intervention to support Adults and Carers to avoid social admissions to hospital. This could be setting up urgent services e.gg respite , care packages etc. interim placements and also liaising with colleagues working within the Emergency Department at the PRUH (Princess Royal University Hospital).
 

  • The role also involves making decisions on whether Section 42 Safeguarding threshold has been met hence a sound working knowledge of Safeguarding, Mental Capacity Act, Care Act assessments and other relevant legislation relevant to Adults is essential. The senior will be working closely with a Care Manager and colleagues from the Initial Contact and Locality teams. 
  • The successful applicant will need to be able to work according to the relevant legislation, for all older people in need of support, plus people over the age of 18 who have a physical disability. In addition to the ability to assess and review people in receipt of care and support, the applicant will need to have excellent report writing and computer skills. Record keeping is a vital and necessary part of the job. Being able to communicate effectively is central to the role and there will be a lot of liaison with other professionals. 
  • The successful applicant will need to be flexible, committed, and hard working with a willingness to work to quality standards and must have the experience of working within a multidisciplinary framework and need to have good communication and negotiating skills. They will be working with Partner agencies and will be required to develop close working relationships with them. 
  • The applicant must hold a Degree in Social Work, (or equivalent) or be RGN/RMN or OT qualified as well as being SWE registered and it is expected that the applicant will have safeguarding and supervisory experience. Senior Social Workers are expected to undertake appropriate training and take responsibility for their continuing professional development.
  • Expenses – mileage can be claimed from place of work to visits (and back).
