Westmorland & Furness Council are recruiting an experienced SEND Sufficiency Programme Lead for their Children’s Services, Quality Resources and Transformation.
Part time – 3 days per week – 22.5 hours
Job location: Westmorland and Furness
Hybrid – home working and Kendal (South Lakeland House) plus ability to travel round Westmorland and Furness to visit schools and settings.
Non-caseholding role
Previous experience of delivering projects/programmes linked to education or SEND sufficiency
Previous experience of working in LA children’s services context – with SEND and education aspects
Ability to travel around W&F
As part of the Schools White Paper and accompanying SEND Reform consultation, LAs must produce a SEND Reform Plan which includes the requirement to set out in detail sufficiency plans including capital spend, over the next 3 years. Successful approval by DfE of this plan will unlock up to 90% of the high needs block deficit for the Council to be written off. Successful delivery of the plan has the potential to unlock further funding to address accumulating deficit.
Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
