Independent Reviewing Officer – Staffordshire

Pay rate – £38 per hour

Staffordshire County Council are currently recruiting experienced children’s Independent Reviewing Officers/Child Protection Conference Chairs for their service in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
 
Chairing Child in Care and Child Protection Conferences which will be in-person meetings.
 
Travelling to visit children as per statutory guidance, to prepare and gather their views in readiness for their review meeting. Ensure the children’s voice is heard and central to decision making.
 
As an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) and Conference Chair, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children across Staffordshire and potentially out of county.
 
This will be a dual role where you will chair child protection conferences and statutory child in care reviews, ensuring that all plans are robust, achievable, and centred on the child’s needs.
 
 
 
Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
