Head of Service – Adult Localities & Mental Health
Location: South West
Pay rate: £650 p/d
Contract: Temporary, 37 hours per week. hybrid working 2-3 days in the office 

We are recruiting an experienced HOS for an interim role in a local authority in the South West of England. 

Purpose of the job:

• Ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of all aspects of adult social care services in a complex and demanding legal and social environment. Delivering a breadth of support to older and disabled people, people with mental ill health, dementia and their carers. Strategically leading the delivery of integrated care with the NHS commissioners and acute providers. Responsible for a revenue budget of C£60m and C120 staff
• Provide strategic leadership on all aspects of Adult Social Care, allocating human and financial resources to priority activities and leading on the integration of services.
• To lead on Mental Health Act Services including supply of warranted Approved Mental Health Professionals, including S117, Mental Health services performance and Council lead on relationships with mental health providers. Provide technical and specialist leadership and advice on all aspects of adult mental health policy and practice.
• To provide confident leadership and clear management across wide-ranging services so as to ensure the effective strategic development and operational delivery of those services.
