Rate: up to £43 per hour
 
We are recruiting for motivated qualified social worker to join our busy team. This role is with one of the UK’s highest performing local authorities, serving as one of the best places to live and work in.
 
This is a qualified role requiring you to be SWE registered and have relevant experience within childrens services.
 
We are recruiting a Senior Social Worker to join our Leaving Care Team (Supporting Independence Team) which sits in our permanency hub, working with our looked after children and care leavers across all our localities within Cheshire West and Chester.
 
The candidate will support the team manager with managing the diverse work of this team through:

  1. a)            Giving supervision to Personal Advisers, supporting them in their work with care leavers
  2. b)            Leading reflective group discussions with Personal Advisers and Social Workers on developing practice
  3. c)            Advising Social Workers and Personal Advisers on complex issues within their work
  4. d)            Being the allocated Social Worker for a small number of looked after children supporting them through the care planning and pathway planning process to develop their independent living skills.
  5. e)            Sharing development of systems and processes in our ambitious journey of continual improvement.

 
With this in mind, we are looking for candidates with experience of assessment and pathway planning with looked after children and working with teenagers and young adults. . Also experience of mentoring others and developing practice. Knowledge of DoLs, and of supporting transition into adulthood is desirable.
 
We are looking for candidates who are at least 2 years post qualified and have experience and proven performance in quality work with young people and partner agencies.
 
We offer excellent supervision and support, working alongside stable teams of experienced social workers and permanent established Team Managers. Free parking in all our localities, access to all in house training and development to support CPD.
 
It would be beneficial if the candidate lives within a reasonable distance from Cheshire West, as whilst we do work in a hybrid style, there is an expectation of regular working from our office bases. Where possible, please can the CV indicate where the candidate resides. Unfortunately, we are not able to support candidates with costs of accommodation or travel to office bases.
