Childrens AMHP – St Helens

Pay rate – £40 per hour

St Helens MB Council are currently recruiting an experienced children’s Approved Mental Health Practitioner for their Emergency Duty team.
 

• Day time teams 
• External agencies such as Police, Health, Education, MH services and housing associations. 

 
To provide and emergency response service for St Helens and Halton LA outside of working hours for children, adults, housing and mental health needs.
The jobholder will be expected to manage emergency referrals effectively and in a timely manner, in order to fulfil the statutory duty of the LA
 
Current post for AMHP/ Children’s qualified is 5 evening, 4-day time and 6 evening/ on call shifts. Days of shifts will be subject to change due to upcoming changes in the team re recruitment and retirement. Additional shifts for AMHP will be available. 
Evening shift – 4:30pm – 12 
Day/weekend shift – 9am – 6pm 
Evening shift / On call period Mon – Thursday – 7pm – 2:30am/ On call period – 2:30 – 9am
Evening shift/ On call period Friday – Friday – 6pm – 1:30am/ on call period – 1:30 – 9am
Evening shift/ On call period Sat & Sun – 4:30pm – 12/ on call period – 12 – 9am              
                                                                                           
The social worker should be AMHP qualified for a minimum of 3years 
It is desirable that the social worker have statutory children’s experience to deliver the service holistically
 
 
Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
